April Glossybox 2013
So I stepped out of the beauty box world for a while as I found it quite tiresome as the products were getting so similar from month to month and I felt that I would rather save my money and buy a product which I actually need/wanted. But this month I just couldn't resist dipping my fingers in!
This months box was designed by Pearl Lowe (isn't it a beauty?!) I saw a lot of reviews before I plunged in and got one for myself but I thought it would be a treat! I was lucky to receive two of the products I wanted the most. I got the Sleek blush in flamingo, so pigmented I have to work with it to get the right amount on the brush as so far I'm a big heavy handed! I got the Essie nail polish in Sugar Daddy, it does appear quite sheer and I'm worrying how I'm going to get on with this, as me and sheer don't go. The perfume sample by Yves Roche is stunning! It's right up my street! A sample of Nip + Fab body butter in coconut latte, I've tried some from this brand before and I'm glad I recieved a scent which I'm yet to try! Last but not least a full sized lip balm from A-Derma, I'm looking forward to giving this a go when my current one has ran out, so for now it'll be waiting.
So I feel that this was a very good box this month as I will be able to use everything that I have received which I find rare with the beauty box scheme,.

My thoughts on beauty boxes
So last year we saw a boom in the industry for monthly subscription beauty boxes. Everybody was wanting one and we had companies up to our eyeballs offering them. I remember being so intrigued by the concept, I thought- it's like a goodie bag (we used to have them as kids) but these beauty one's are obviously more expensive. So I dipped my fingers into the water by sampling a Carmine box, it was my first so I was very impressed. Since then I have tried boxes from Glossybox, She Said Beauty, Birch Box and Lux Box. Overall I would say I have been most impressed with Lux Box. But were they all really worth my £10 a month?
That is the big question that seems to lie over everyones head. An I don't really know.
I love the fact that it's a surprise every month, but if I don't like what's in the boxes then it's not really a good surprise- I end up feeling disappointed. I like the fact you get to try brands that are new to you, and that I wouldn't normally buy- maybe due to the price. But some of the samples aren't that great, sometimes you just end up with sachets and to me, that's not really trying the product. Some boxes I have had and I have been really pleased with, but others, not so much. To me that £10 could go on a product that I really want. I now wait for the reviews to show up online to decide as to whether I want a box or not and I find this the best way after testing a number of boxes. For £10 a month I think I expect a variety, decent sample sizes and quality service. Some months the boxes hit these expectations, others they don't. Overall, in my experience they are rather hit and miss.

What do you think of the monthly beauty box subscription world? Have you ever tried any, or would you ever consider trying any? Let's talk!

Sugar and Spice Self-Heating face mask Review
Before I start- Enter my giveaway guys!
In my previous post you would of seen that I purchased some face masks from the new Superdrug range. I have already used the White Chocolate mask and have a review of this- so check that out!
Unfortunately this face mask hurt my face! I think it was too intense for my skin to be honest. It did smell lovely it was like gingerbread! However it was very sticky and was nothing like the picture on the packaging. Oh so sticky!! An this was the thing that put me off the most! I did still enjoy using it I guess, but I don't think this face mask is for me, my skin is too sensitive so I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin. An if you like masks that dry over time then this one isn't for you.

Lux Box July 2012
I can never wait for my monthly box from Lux Box. I am yet to be disappointed with these boxes! I thought I would share with you guys what I got this month!
Inika Certified Organic Eye Liner- I had an Inika eyeliner from another beauty box and yeah I like it. I got my shade in Peacock Blue, a shade I wouldn't personally buy but I love it! It's such a creamy eyeliner.
Gatineau Essential Skin Corrector- I've not tried this yet but I'm looking forward as it does smell really relaxing. It contains anti-oxidents. This claims to improve radiance.
Magnifibres Brush on False Eyelashes- This product really jumped out at me, the packaging is so nice and this is a product I would buy, so I'm really glad I get to try it out. I am hoping to do a full review on this product as I have high hopes for it!
BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream- This BB cream contains spf in it! Pleased about that, I haven't tried it yet but I normally wear a BB cream to work, so guess what I'll be using tomorrow! An the fact it has extracts of caviar in, really interests me!
Yana Cosmetics Foundation- Lux box actually took the time to e-mail their subscribers to ask what shade they required for this sample, now if thats not good customer service what is! I'm really looking forward to trying this foundation as its not tested on animals and claims an airbrushed look.

May Luxbox
I thought I would round up the month of May with my May Lux Box. Unfortunately it arrived quite late this month and I've not long received it. Lux Box are new and this is only their second box and teething problems are to be expected! But the customer service is outstanding! Regular updates on their Facebook page, always letting you know what's going on and email replies in my experience are within a couple of hours.
I cannot fault this company on their service. I was over the moon with my April box. (I did do a blog post of it for those of you who are interested.) So May had a lot to live up to!

- Sensationelle Flicktips Full size £8.99- At first I thought "What are these?" as they caught my eye as soon as I opened my box. I was quite surprised to see them as it's such a different product! I don't think I would ever think to buy these so I'm really happy that I can try them out.
- The Rosebud Perfume Co Mocha Rose Tube 30ml Full size £7.00- My box smells like this! This is a lip balm with vanilla, it smells more like coco butter to me. I really like the packaging, I think it's really different. The consistency is very thick! I don't know whether this is just mine? But it is very thick making it quite hard to apply. But the smell is heavenly!
- Di Palomo Hand and Nail Cream 25ml in Wild Fig and Grape this is £6.30 for 75ml- I love the smell of this, I can't stop sniffing it. It wouldn't of been a scent I would of chosen myself just by the nail, but well I'm happy! This is my favourite item out of the box. It's going in my handbag!
- Papier Poudre- Rachel £7.20- Another interesting product to see- powdered blotting papers. I've never owned any before but a fair few of my friends use them. This is so handy to carry around with you. The powder will be a great look for the upcoming summer weather as it is a bit darker than my natural skin tone.
- Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser 30ml £34 for full size- I'm looking forward to trying this I've never tried this brand before, but this is going straight in my pile for holiday products as I think it's the perfect size to take away! Thats if I can hold of using it for about a week!
Overall I'm really happy with what I have received this month. I am staying subscribed to Lux box as I feel, for me they have the edge over other beauty boxes, they're new and I just love what I'm receiving, all these different items and different brands. Lux box is a clear winner for me

The cream with some added steam
I have never fallen in love with a cream as much as I have with this one. When I heard about it, I did really want to try it, and I was supposed to be getting it in a beauty box but for some reason or another it didn't make an appearance in mine! Then looking online I couldn't part with my £12.95 for something I wasn't sure how my skin would react to. But then luckily a pot appeared in a beauty box I received last month and I was over the moon!
After trying it out for about a month now I feel that I can write a better review on this product. I have used it everyday, putting it on my face just before I go to sleep. I have also been suffering with dry hands, so I have been using it as a hand cream also. You can use it anywhere really but this is what I have been trying out. Firstly, it smells amazing! It has a subtle scent of lavender and gosh it's lovely to put on your skin last thing at night! I find the scent really relaxing and calming. When I put the cream on my face I feel as though it sits there, but when I wake up in the morning- no trace! Not oily or anything and my skin is just amazingly soft! This is now my go to cream. I have combination skin, sometimes its dry, sometimes its oily and I do get breakouts so trying new things is not something I like doing but with this product I am having no problems.
You get a lot of product for the size of the pot as I find with this product a little does go a really long way, but you can always put more on if you feel the need to. I'm going to continue using this product as I'm really getting on with it and who knows it may be standing in line for a re-purchase! With the rate it's going at the moment I am almost certain. There are many different styles of tin you can buy and it's so hard to choose which one to get!

Glossy Box- April- Earth day edition!
This is my review of this months Glossybox! It was in relation to Earth Day. So all the products are organic!
5 products this month, with 3 full size products in here! This is my first GB, I was a loyal subscriber to Carmine so as you all know they are no longer around, so thought I would try these guys! On with the products!
CAUDALIE- Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
This is a 10ml sample size but no way is this true, squeezing the bottle and only once I'm nearing the bottom do I see any product coming out. Used this last night, my mum loved it! However I'm not really sold, partly due to the lack of product. But my skin does feel soft this morning! So this is kind of a hit and miss for me I'm afraid.
FIGS AND ROUGE- Lip Balm in Rambling Rose
This is good, beautiful packaging! An lip balm is always usable. Not too keen on the smell/taste I have it in though as others seem to have much nicer ones! But I can always use this so thats great! Perfect size to take with me on my Holidays! It says you can use it on your face also/skin in general but I don't think I'll be doing that! OH! It's full size by the way! Full Size £3.29 (What an odd price!)
AYUURI- In Sandalwood
Happy to see this, great size product, full size YAY. Smell is quite nice looks like it could be really moisturising. I can't wait to try this out. You can never go wrong with body wash. Full Size £4.95.
INIKA- Black eyeliner
Glad to see this, lovely make up product I will always use eyeliner. Can't go wrong! Happy to see I got black as it is a useful colour. This is also full size £11.75. I'll show the swatches now.
Thin line- one stroke.
Fatter line- building it up.
Overall I'm happy with my box but not thrilled, I've had better, but I love the theme and the box itself. For me what let it down was the perfume sample. When seeing what other people got, this seems a little tight. But there we go! Win some you loose some. I don't think I will be getting another Glossy box. I'm awaiting the new mysteries LUXBOX. An considering going back to She Said Beauty. However I'm debating whether these boxes are worth the money. But hey, its fun right?!

KAI- Perfume Oil
Gutted. Half full. An what a rubbish size sample! It's not even worth it. I don't like the smell its far too strong and floral for my personal taste. With other beauty boxes I have experienced this would of been classed as an added bonus product! This one is a thumbs down for me.
